Powering Up Judgeford Golf Club with a Complete Electrical Upgrade
When the team at Judgeford Golf Club needed a major electrical upgrade, they turned to Trilect Wellington for a safe, compliant, and future-proof solution.
Over two days, from 22 to 23 April 2024, our electricians delivered a comprehensive mains and switchboard upgrade, modernising the system to meet current AS/NZS 3000 standards and enhancing safety, reliability, and long-term performance.
A Safer, Smarter Electrical System
The project began with the safe removal of the old asbestos-backed switchboard, completed in partnership with licensed asbestos removal specialists.
From there, our team performed a full rewire and relabelling of all 45 sub-circuits, ensuring a clean, compliant electrical foundation for the entire facility.
We also upgraded and relocated the retail meter, working closely with Northpower, Meridian Energy, and inspector Errol Mann to manage a controlled shutdown and reconnection without disrupting operations longer than necessary.
To further strengthen the system, the 3-phase 35mm² mains supply was extended and reconfigured, complete with a new MEN link and a future-proof generator change-over setup. All lighting and power points were upgraded to RCD protection, followed by full testing and verification to ensure compliance with AS/NZS 3000 and the Electricity (Safety) Regulations.
A dedicated MCB was installed for the clubhouse residence, providing clear circuit separation and improved safety. Finally, our team completed a professional switchboard chart and circuit directory, making future maintenance straightforward and user-friendly for the client.

By 10:00 AM Monday, the entire site was safely powered down — and by 6:00 PM Tuesday, the upgraded system was live again. Despite the tight schedule, Trilect’s team executed every stage with precision, coordination, and professionalism, restoring power swiftly and ensuring full compliance with modern safety standards.
